You're probably wondering — how did this all come together?

I can tell you this entire brand would not exist if I hadn't chosen a journey toward health and happiness. I made a choice to face the fear within myself — the "I can't, it's too much money, no one is going to buy it" story — and decided to do everything I could to create something truly special, and walk into the fear of building a brand on my own, for myself.

Why a silk pillowcase?

I've been a hairstylist for 24 years and have owned my salon, Maison Le Drew Costello, for over a decade. I got tired of hearing my clients say: my blowdry doesn't last, my hair's frizzy, my scalp is dry, my ends keep breaking. These women were doing everything right — the proper products, the proper maintenance — and it clicked. A treatment that didn't involve the shower, a Sunday routine, or a trip to see me. A pillowcase.

So off I went — researching quality, embroidery, the characteristics of silk — until I found something I could genuinely stand behind and offer to my clients and to women everywhere who deserve better beauty sleep.

Why "Butter"?

Driving home one day, I asked myself: what word would look good on a pillowcase, make me laugh, and feel like me? I love butter. I put it on everything. I call my blondes "butter." I tell my friends to butter it up. And what does silk feel like? Butter. Done.

Why these colours?

Each pillowcase is inspired by the crystal bracelets I wore — Rhodonite, Labradorite, and White Jade — representing the lessons I've learned along the way: to dream, grieve, balance, love, forgive, accept, and breathe.

Who I Am Today

I've spent 24 years as a hairstylist — private clients now, one day a week, plus the hair magic I bring on the road. I travel with my mentor Kathleen Cameron and do her hair, and I teach hair and self-care inside her private community.

Every Butter Beauty product still comes from that same 24 years of experience: knowing what actually protects hair versus what just markets well.

My main work today is as a manifestation coach alongside Kathleen — I help people return to the truth of who they are. It's different work than hairstyling, but it comes from the same place: helping people feel like themselves, inside and out.

Butter Beauty sits at the intersection of it all — hair essentials made with real professional standards, from someone who believes just as much in taking care of yourself in every other sense too.
